ABOUT THE ARTWORK:

«…» is my personal diary that I started keeping in November when the news broke about a potential full-scale invasion, gradually recording the growing tension. The profile only displays particular diary pages selected by the author.

The diary is complemented by a wooden installation related to the reinterpretation of memories associated with the house. I spent my childhood in an old clay-and-wood house in the town of Vasylkiv. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the bombardment of our town began, the airfield, the big petrol station, and several buildings were blown up, and the enemy landing forces landed in the neighboring gardens. We were afraid that our house, which tells the story of 4 generations of the family, is no longer there and that our memories were stolen, burned, and destroyed. A corner in which icons and sacred images were placed has a special symbolic meaning in traditional Ukrainian houses. Grandma used to say that there was always a dream hiding in the corner when I couldn't sleep as a child. I'm exploring the idea of ​​a corner by placing old charred boards inside, trying to preserve something from my own history.
