AGLAYA NOGINA

Aglaya Nogina is a young Ukrainian artist, working in the field of contemporary art, painting, graphics, engraving and printing, photo and video art. She received her higher art education at the Kyiv National Academy of Art and Architecture, specializing in book and free graphics. At the moment Aglaya is studying at the Dusseldorf Academy of Art in the free art class taught by Professor Rita McBride. She strives to explore media and go beyond the usual forms and formats. Before the war started she explored issues of women's rights in the post-Soviet space, worked with book illustration, but after the beginning of the full-scale invasion the topic of her projects became in topics like self-identification, the concept of home (project "Ripped out”), as well as the properties of human memory (Melancholia).

This is a series of graphic prints based on my memories. The material for these prints is an archive of photos I have taken on my phone over the last 7 years all over Ukraine.
